VU Sialkot campuses regularly arrange excursion trips and engage students in extra-curricular activities to give them a break from rigorous academic sessions. Such activities enhance their academic, professional and intellectual skills. Unfortunately, Covid-19 lockdowns & restrictions disrupted the routine functioning of the institute and our students were eagerly waiting for any event to feel relaxed mentally as well as physically.

Computer Connection Institute, VU Sialkot Campuses organized its annual Sports Gala on 21st December, 2021. This annual sports gala is more like a festival for our students. It was arranged at the VIP Cricket ground, Saidpur road, Sialkot. We were quite lucky to have a bright sunny day in the chill of winter free of smog and fog. The warm bright sunny day, cheerful faces of students made the event an absolute delight. Buses were arranged for female students to reach the venue. Almost 500 students participated in this beautiful and colorful sports day. Main objective of this activity was to develop a sporting spirit in the students and to provide them an opportunity to demonstrate their physical prowess.

Various exciting activities were planned for the students, providing an excellent opportunity to show their talent. Surprisingly, in this sports gala, the number of female students was greater than male students. Female students seemed more enthusiastic to take part in sports activities. Sports day started with a cricket tournament where 3 teams from Shahab Pura Campus and 3 teams from Railway road campus participated. The final was played between Shahabpura campus team “VU Shaheen” and Railway road campus team “Rajput Cricket Club”. After a thrilling competition, Rajput Cricket Club won the final match of the cricket tournament and bagged the trophy. Apart from cricket, several competitions for male and female students were also arranged including Rally race, Sprint race, Arm wrestling, Push up competition, Needle Race, Lemon Spoon Race, Balloon competition, Water Straw competition, Mehndi Competition, Cold drink competition and Tug of war etc. The musical chair was another amusing activity of the day, which was highly appreciated by female students. Students also enjoyed Singing competitions, Dhol Beats and dance performances. Delicious lunch was also served to the participants. It was an exciting, well organized and disciplined event. The hard work of faculty & organizers was evident in carrying out each activity.

At the end, the prize distribution ceremony was held for the appreciation of students and organizers who made this event memorable with their excellent performance. The CEO Sohail Khan distributed trophies & shields to the winners. The CEO also expressed his gratitude towards the VIP Group of Industries for extending their support and facilities for the Annual Sports Gala. The CEO also appreciated the efforts of the event organizer team of VU Sialkot campus and distributed certificates of appreciation among them. Thus, a joyful day came to an end and everyone returned with a heart full of memories. It was a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish.
